We ran a booth Saturday at a local Earth Day festival on behalf of Vineyard Boise's Let's Tend The Garden ministry. In the weeks and days leading up to the festival we were praying for some divine encounters – specifically for salvations.
During one of these prayer meetings, a friend said she saw us (Em and me) walking down a path scatting seeds. She felt that we were going to be planting a lot of 'seeds' for Christ.

While at the festival, we had a variety of conversations with members of different religions: Bahá'í, Buddhist, Unitarians, and 'Mother Earth' to name a few. Some wanted to know why we, as Christians, were doing at an Earth Day festival; while still others were happy to see Christians getting involved with taking care of the earth. During all it, we tried to point them towards Father God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
One memorial conversation stood out. It was with a member of the Bahá'í faith who came over to recruit us to join with his group in bring a native spiritualist to Boise to 'heal the land'. This opened the door to talk about Jesus and what it means to be a Christian. However, it was hard to talk to him as he would agree with me and then twist my words back at me. I give praise to God that He helped me stay focused and deliberate in my words. It was an interesting encounter to say the least.
(Note: For those who don't know, Bahá'í believers believe that all religions are correct and are just different ways to 'god'.)
At the end of the day, I walked away hoping and praying that Gospel Message made it's way into someone heart – either by our brochure about Vineyard and our ministry or maybe though one of our multiple conversations. Only God knows…
The next morning at church, we had a guest speaker who spoke about Luke 8 – the Parable of the Sower. Talk about tying things together…
